It’s NFL draft week in Green Bay, so how would Annie Agar hook her massive social media audience into watching her humorous take on the league’s big offseason event?
With an Aaron Rodgers joke, of course.
Agar, a content creator and sports media personality, who often has brutally funny jabs at teams and players after each week of the NFL season on social media, posted her “draft meetings” segment April 23.
It took just 11 seconds to make this reporter laugh when she dropped Rodgers’ name into her latest witty one-liner fest faster than a Pat McAfee promo on a Tuesday.
Or Adam Schefter on pretty much any day.
With Green Bay hosting the draft starting April 24, Agar, who is a Packers fan, immediately poked fun at the size of the NFL’s tiniest market and tied it to Rodgers.
“We are smaller than an Aaron Rodgers family reunion, so yes, it will be very tight in there; please no pushing or shoving.”
And Agar was just getting warmed up with the Green Bay zingers, but the next one was targeted squarely at the Packers’ front office.
“OK, a couple of important guys will be at the draft this year – Abdul Carter, Matthew Golden – which came as a shock to Green Bay; they weren’t aware wide receivers were available in the first round,” she said.
Rodgers wasn’t the only former Packers quarterback Agar roasted, either.
“Somebody get the Saints in here, please,” she said. “Thanks to Derek Carr, Brett Favre isn’t the only NFL player to steal millions from a state in the south.”
Ouch!
The quick-witted Agar eventually got back to Rodgers.
“Pittsburgh, what are you doing? We are still waiting on Aaron. Look, are you going to retire or what? It looks like (Colorado quarterback) Shedeur (Sanders) might fall to us.”
Mic drop.
Agar fires plenty more comedic shots at teams or players begging to be made fun of in her nearly four-minute video:
