MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile Police have responded to posts on social media in reference to a shooting Saturday afternoon near Langan Park.

I know many of you have reached out after seeing posts on social media in reference to a shooting this afternoon near Langan Park.
The Mobile Police Department received reports of shots fired “near” Langan Park in a wooded area south of Museum Drive (closer to the N. Carmel Drive area), but not at the park itself. Those at the park are safe to be there, contrary to social media posts asking people to evacuate the area.
We have extra officers in the area currently, and they’ll continue to patrol the area this afternoon heavily.
No damage or injuries were reported.
