FCT Police Crack Down on Crime: Successful Raids Yield Significant Recoveries

To combat crime and protect both public and private property within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Police Command has recently executed strategic raids on several identified black-spots. Objectives of Daily Raids

The daily raids are crucial for:

1. Crime Prevention: By targeting known criminal hotspots, these operations aim to deter crime and ensure a safer environment.

 

2. Infrastructure Protection: These raids disrupt activities that result in the theft and vandalism of public infrastructure like manhole covers, streetlights, and power cables.

 

3. Drug Abuse and Trafficking Reduction: Confiscating illegal drugs helps break supply chains and protects communities.

 

4. Law Enforcement: These actions demonstrate the police’s commitment to upholding the law and bringing criminals to justice.

The Command has raided several criminal hideouts across the FCT, including:

– Apo-Dutse Panteka

– Diplomatic Zone

– New PDP Secretariat

– Kabusa Panteka

– Ajakaita (Tungan-Maje)

– Abuja-Kaduna Road

– Jabi Panteka

– Apo-Waru Panteka

– Area 1 (Monkey Village)

– Durumi Village

– Gwarimpa

– Angwan Tivi

– Mpape (Mashafa and Shishinpe villages)

– Durumi III (Burukutu Garden)

– Mabushi (Gishiri Village)

– Kubwa (by Pipeline and NEPA Road)

– Maitama (under the Transcorp Bridge)

 

 

Successes from the Raids

The FCT Police Command’s efforts have led to significant achievements, including:

 

– Arresting 348 suspects for various criminal activities.

– Prosecuting and charging 320 suspects in court.

– Seizing 10 trucks loaded with vandalized metals.

– Recovering 26 manhole covers and 20 solar/streetlight poles.

– Confiscating large quantities of AEDC armored cables.

– Seizing substantial amounts of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs.

– Recovering 11 firearms.

 

These results underscore the importance of continued raids in maintaining a crime-free and secure environment for all FCT residents.
