Dangote Refinery Lowers Petrol Price to N890 for Economic Relief

In a continued effort to provide economic relief for Nigerians, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N950 to N890. This new price is effective from Saturday, February 1st, 2025.

 

According to a press statement released by Mr. Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer for Dangote Group, the reduction is in response to a positive outlook in global energy and gas markets, as well as a recent decrease in international crude oil prices.

 

This price adjustment aligns with Dangote Refinery’s commitment to transparency and fairness, reflecting ongoing fluctuations in global crude oil markets.

 

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery believes that reducing the price from N950 to N890 will lead to a significant decrease in the cost of petrol nationwide. This reduction is expected to lower the prices of goods and services and the overall cost of living, creating a positive impact across various sectors of the economy,” the statement read.

 

The refinery also calls on marketers to support this initiative to ensure the benefits are passed on to the Nigerian populace. This collective effort aligns with the broader economic recovery plan championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at making Nigeria self-sufficient in refined petroleum products and positioning the country as a leading oil export hub.
