Lagos Assembly Hails Tinubu’s Achievements, Calls Him a Blessing to Nigeria

On Thursday, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly highlighted the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, praising him as a blessing to Nigeria.

 

During the plenary session, the lawmakers commended the President, noting that he took office at a crucial time when Nigerians were facing significant socio-economic challenges before the 2023 elections.

 

Hon. Tobun Abiodun (Epe I) initiated the motion, informing his colleagues that the policies introduced by President Tinubu had started to yield positive outcomes in less than two years.

 

Tobun highlighted the improvement in the country’s GDP, attributing it to Tinubu’s economic expertise, which is also reflected in the strengthening Naira.

 

“Currently, the policies are yielding positive results, and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased. The value of the Naira is gradually gaining strength.

 

“There is no more fuel scarcity in the country. We need to encourage the federal government to continue on the positive path it started two years ago,” Hon. Tobun said.

 

The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Adewale Temitope (Ifako-Ijaiye I), added that the President’s actions demonstrated his preparedness before taking office.

 

Temitope mentioned that the Federal Government under Tinubu continues to address the needs of Nigerians, citing operational refineries and the resulting drop in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

 

He reiterated the efforts and sacrifices made by Tinubu, describing him as a true democrat, for the continued success and strength of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) both in the state and the nation.

 

Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa II) praised the President for his efforts in combating insecurity and reducing inflation.

 

Hon. Aro Moshood (Ikorodu II) commended the President for the upward review of the country’s minimum wage, his investment drive, which has secured over $40 million, and for mitigating the effects of the subsidy removal.

 

Speaker Mojisola Meranda expressed optimism that the President would fulfill the expectations of Nigerians.

 

“I know President Tinubu will take us to the Promised Land. When he started, it was rough, but it is becoming clear that the policies are yielding results.

 

“These positive results have occurred within the short time Tinubu has been in power. Tinubu’s investment in security is also paying off, as we see a reduction in insecurity,” she said.

 

She directed the acting Clerk of the House, Abubakar Taiwo Ottun, to send a commendation letter to the President, acknowledging the positive impact of his policies and programs.
