Controversial social media post targeting Prime Minister, youth held in Tripura – tripuratimes.com

Samid Mia, a resident of Maharani area in Tripura’s Udaipur sub-division, was arrested on charges of making objectionable social media post targeting the Prime Minister.
He was apprehended from Telkajla area under Melaghar Police Station.
Amid rising India- Pakistan tension following Pahalgam terror attack, authorities have been cracking down on anti-national activities surfacing on social media.
A case was filed by representatives of the Hindu Jagaran Mancha after Samid Mia allegedly made derogatory comments about the Prime Minister. They demanded his arrest within 24 hours.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police, Gomati District Souvik Dey, a police team kept a close watch in Telkajla area since last night. Finally, in the early hours of Monday, Samid Mia was arrested and brought to R.K. Pur Police Station. 
Police are now investigating the motive behind his objectionable social media post targeting the Prime Minister.
Further legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation, officials confirmed.
